About

The Aberdour Cultural Association was set up at an inaugural meeting in July 2010 and its aim is to initiate and promote artistic, cultural and associated activities within Aberdour and the surrounding areas, for example, art, drama, music, written and spoken word, film, local history.

We run our own projects and events – for example, hosting talks and publishing information on local history – and also aim to support members of the local community who have an idea that fits within the broad description of ‘cultural’.

We set ourselves up as a constituted body to apply for funding for a poetry trail in Aberdour, the poems having been written during an earlier Aberdour Festival. While doing this, we realised there may be others with similar ideas and we might provide an “umbrella” under which they could progress them.

We meet informally once every couple of months, usually on a Monday evening, in Aberdour. If you have an idea that you may like some help with getting off the ground, do come along to a meeting or contact us through the link on our website.

Current Committee members are: Simon Taylor (Chair), Alison Chapman (Secretary & Treasurer) and Diana Maxwell. New members always welcome!
